Staying with your dog at Harebell
We welcome dogs for your holiday at Eastacott Barton, but we do have some rules to ensure that everyone (both dogs and guests) get along fine, and that we keep the accommodation in the 5 star condition you found it in.
Dogs go free
We allow a maximum of 2 dogs (over the age of 1) in Harebell and there is no extra charge for bringing your dogs.
27 acres of superb stock-free dog walks
There are 27 acres of meadow, lakes and woodland here at Eastacott Barton, and no livestock, so dogs are welcome to explore all the grounds. The adjoining fields have stock proof fencing, but there are 2 entrances to the property, so the estate is not ‘enclosed’.
We expect all owners to keep control of their dogs – other guests may have young children who are not used to dogs, and our neighbouring farmers will be angry if dogs bother their livestock.
Please do not leave any dog alone or unattended in the property unless it is crated or in the utility room. Harebell has a large utility area, with a tiled floor, and floor drain and utility sink. This was specifically designed to allow wet and messy dogs to be brought in from outside, so they could be cleaned down and dried in some comfort. We also have a number of outside taps to use to wash down dogs if required.
Dogs are not allowed upstairs and are not allowed on the sofas (in consideration of other guests).
We provide a welcome pack for our dog guests which includes dog towels, blankets, treats, leads and poo bags. There is a small dog bed.
When you take your dogs for a walk, please pick up after your dog(s) including in our fields, as these are open to all guests and the local farmer takes the top grass for his animals during the summer months. Please dispose of poops in the outside poo-bin (red topped dustbin, opposite the recycling shed), whatever the weather. Please use the poo bags at the time of any incident, so that grass mowing doesn’t cause muck spreading incidents!
If you have a young dog please take extra care. We do not allow dogs under the age of one year as they may chew the furniture or soft furnishings. Maintaining our 5 star grading is key to our business and we can’t always repair items if damaged. If an item has to be replaced, we will, I am afraid have to charge you.
Please let us know in advance if you’re intending on bringing your dog(s). All dogs must be booked in by prior agreement.
If you do have any questions about bringing your dogs do let us know as we want to ensure that all our guests – 2 or 4 legged have an enjoyable stay at Eastacott Barton holiday cottages.
